How it all started.
Netkiosk was founded in 2011 in Ireland by Mr. Aime Snijders. (Aime is Dutch * More about Aime below). While designing and building kiosk units through his business jtmkiosksystems, a customer asked Aime for a simple and cheap kiosk software solution, and after having looked at existing kiosk software, he decided to develop a brand-new solution. And Netkiosk was born.

From the start, the aim was to make simple yet powerful and reliable kiosk software that could be used in any environment. Removing IT headaches and creating peace of mind is what Netkiosk is all about. As netkiosk.com was already taken, it was decided to register Netkiosk.co.uk and the rest, as they say, is history. It can safely be said that after more than a decade, Netkiosk has become a household name within the kiosk software industry.

Due to the nature of our software customers will remain private. We will mention some projects where Netkiosk has been used in the past, as well as some current applications.

• For the December 2015 Spanish National Elections, we developed a custom security solution. This custom Netkiosk solution was successfully deployed during the elections on 4,000 devices.
• For the 2018 Ontario Elections, we developed a custom security solution. This custom Netkiosk solution was successfully deployed during the elections on 25,000 devices.
• For the 2020 Saskatchewan Elections, we developed a custom security solution. This solution was successfully deployed during the elections on more than 2,000 devices.
• For a major Japanese bank we developed a custom solution entirely in Japanese that includes special features for use in their branches.

About the founder of Netkiosk

Aime started his first IT hardware supply company in 1997 in Dublin after having found a way to convert old Intel 486 PCs into full multimedia PCs that he sold to customers at a fraction of the cost of more expensive PCs. The first few years were learning everything about PC hardware, and the IT industry as a whole.
With this knowledge and experience in hand in 2006 Aime started designing and manufacturing of coin operated kiosk systems which he supplied at a much lower price point than the competition.
Due to the ever increasing availability of free Wifi Aime decided that is was time to shift focus and concentrate on kiosk software.
It was not until 2011 that Aime decide to focus entirely on kiosk software.

Aime has more than 27 years of experience at various levels in IT, from hardware to software.
Aime is proficient at VB, C#, Chromium, Windows security, and all levels of web design including graphic design, PHP, and java.
With this extensive PC hardware and Microsoft Windows knowledge Aime has learned how to design the ultimate kiosk software.

Prior to moving to Dublin Aime lived in London for 11 years where he worked as a Credit analyst.
Aime has a degree in Economics (obtained in the Netherlands), as well as a masters degree from UCD Dublin in business development and innovation.
